Just go-all is good. From a amazing check in procedure, excellent standard room, perfect beach with bar service, amazing pools, fantastic food and a great staff. Weather is hot and sunny and the ocean is clean and warm. Local towns are clean and fun with lots of fishing and jungle trips available. We were lucky to see Hump back whales, dolfins and sea turtles on our fishing trip. Tino was our guide and was excellent. Will go again next year. Crowd is mostly middle aged but has a good mixture of young couples and families as well.

Huatulco is a great destination, safe & friendly. Dreams sometimes rated a 5* but not quite there in my opinion. Food again good but not 5*. Very clean and staff 5* without being intrusive. Beach very nice but not Shoal Bay or Reduit in St.Lucia. Would I return? Yes!! but would would probably try a different resort. Stay away from the 90 minute presentation - a waste of up-front money - You can get better deals at Escapes.ca with less hassle and put that up-front money to better use!!!

Dreams provided us with a great holiday with the staff so friendly and most spoke very good english. The first two days the beach was black flagged and off limits but the pool area was abundant. We took a cattamaran boat tour to the hidden bays and loved it with whale and dolphin sightings during the morning. We were moved to SECRETS for the last 3 nights and this 12 week old resort is ultra new and worth every penny...adults only also. The rebate on the price protection already arrived and we love your total services.

We enjoy walking on the beach and swimming in the ocean for most of each day but always end off with an hour at the adult pool as the sun is going down. We will return again next year.

We travelled to Huatulco April 5th ,2011 and stayed two weeks. On the way from the airport to the hotel the guide was very informative. One of the things he said was that Huatulco was prone to earthquakes. We thought nothing of it. On the 2nd day there, sure enough, we had an earthquake that sent everyone out into the walkways. We later heard it was a 5 on the richter scale. It did put some excitement into the day. The rooms are very nice, clean & modern. Bathrooms were great with a rain shower that was the best. Still think about it. Very good service with friendly and accomodating staff. Beach was one of the best that we have been at and we have been at quite a few resorts in Mexico. Surf can be crazy , and the day of the earthquake, as well as the next day, it was pretty wild. Every day except for one, had a red flag. Not a lot to do here, definately not for singles. We went into the small towns of La Crucecita, and Santa Cruz a few times. Snorkling in one of the bays was a lot of fun with loads of colorful fish. Fishing with Tico, who we met on the beach, turned out to be a great day and I would reccomend him to anyone. He was a great Captain and we ended up with a mahi mahi, some of which we took to the resort and they cooked for us with the rest going to Tico and his helper.( It was very good) We also caught three marlin. which we released. Altogether a great day on the water. The only thing that I can complain about at this resort is the food. We have been to a lot of all inclusive resorts in Mexico and this was by far the worst. The breakfasts were good but lunch & dinner in the buffet were pretty bad. The ala cartes were better. The Japanese, which we ate at a couple of times was more like Chinese but the food wasn't bad. Also Portofino's was o.k. as well, but when you are staying two weeks it really got old fast. We ate three times in La Crucecita and the food was great. La Creme was truly an expierience right out of the 60's (not the cleanest place) but the pizza's were made right in front of you and the large wood oven turned out a great pizza. The Onix was fantastic, wish we had discoved it sooner. Appitizers, drinks, lobster dinner & dessert all for under $40.00. Really good food and worth going to. Leaving was not a great expierence either. There were six of us and one couple were only there for a week. Their flight was delayed about 6 hours and they were informed of this and they were allowed to stay at the resort for dinner and didn't have to leave until around 8pm. The next week the resort was filling up with a lot of families as it was a spring break in Mexico. When we were to leave, the hotel was completley booked. We learned that our flight was delayed a couple of hours or so Sunwing told us. We got to the airport about 6pm only to discover that we wouldn't be leaving until 11pm. We discovered that they had known this all along but as the resort was full they had shipped us off to wait at the airport. Not cool! Would I return, Probably not and if we did only for a week unless they improve their food.

We visited Dreams in Huatulco Mexico for 2 weeks starting April 5th - April 19th. It was our wedding anniversary the day we arrived and I must say they made us feel very special. When we went to our room there was a Happy Anniversary banner across the door and our bed was decorated with real rose petals in the shape of a heart. There was also champagne on ice and a small cake. My husband had e-mailed the manager before we arrived and she did a wonderful job surprising us. Our room had a king bed and a jacuzzi tub on the balcony which we did pay a little extra for. The room is very clean and modern with a great shower complete with rainforest shower head. The a la carte's were better than the buffet and I must say that the first week the buffet was just O.K. Breakfast was the better meal of the day if you were there by 9:00 a.m. otherwise it was busier and the food was sitting too long in some of the bins. The service and the staff were great but again we (six of us) felt that compared to other all- inclusives we've been to this buffet was not that good. We didn't starve though and there's always something you can get that fills the gap. Others we met thought the food was great so it really depends on your past experiences. The second week we were there it got very busy with families as there was some sort of spring break. Too busy and much noisier; the first week was better by far. The beach was fun as the waves can get a little crazy; use the free boogy boards they were a hoot. We went marlin fishing with Tico who we met on the beach. He was great and has a very clean reliable boat. We caught 3 marlin (catch & release) and one Mahi Mahi. We had a great time; Tico is a great captain. Take gravol before you go even if you don't get sea sick; the rough water can get to you. We would recommend the resort but only for a week and we would consider returning. Enjoy):

March 11 to 18 2010:

I can't say enough good things about the Huatulco area . Beautiful beaches, great diving and snorkeling and perfect hot weather- a truly tropical experience.

The Dreams Resort itself is in a perfect location on the beach and has enough (perhaps just enough) palapas for the number of guests at the hotel. In my three visits in the last three years (once when it was Gala) I have never once not found a palapa on the beach. The hotel is a bit more serious this year about enforcing the rule of losing your palapa after 30 minutes of leaving it, but this is a good thing for late risers like me.

The rooms at Dreams are fantastic. Flat screen tv, dvd, minifridge, etc etc and I would rate them as highly as a luxury Canadian hotel, such as the Whistler Westin.

The only problem with this hotel is the food is not at a 4 or 5 star level, but saying that they have made significant improvements over the last year. The food in the buffet last year was really bad, except for breakfast. This year that food is actually very good. There still isn't as much variety as you will find at other five stars, but I was perfectly happy with the buffet food this time. The Japanese restaurant was just ok and the Italian restaurant was pretty bad. Flavourless, undercooked ravioli.

As for night life, the hotel has a central bar in the reception area which catches the breeze and is often very busy. Nobody goes to the disco. Just down the street is the Tipsy Blowfish which can find any pro sports game you want to watch and has a good variety of cold beer.

We just came back from our week (there were 10 of us) at the Dreams, Huatulco. I personally have stayed at a number of all-inclusive hotels (Mayan Riviera, Puerto Vallarta, Dominican, Cuba) and this was by far the best resort I have been to yet. We definitely received 5 star service at every turn. They pay attention to all the little details (room service in the evening, slippers in your room, served drinks at the pool and on the beach). The buffet and a la carte restaurants were good (especially the Italian restaurant) and what was nice is you didn't have to make reservations. Enough activities that you never had to leave the resort. We did go out to the local towns, Santa Cruz and Cruscecita (sp?) and felt very safe and the cab ride was quick and cheap.

I often like to try somewhere different but this is one place where I will definitely go back to!!

If you are going to Huatulco and want a nice resort, this is the place to stay... 3 infinite pools overlooking the bay with excellent poolside service. The servers where coming around all the time asking if you wanted a drink, in fact most of the time we had to tell them we didn't need anything.. thats how often they came. I have stayed at many all inclusives and never had such attentive service. This goes beyond the poolside servers as well. The front desk and concierge were excellent and the restaurant staff were very courteous as well. Aside from the 3 infinite pools (one of which is adults only), there is also a kids pool and another large pool around the side of the hotel.

The rooms have been renovated and are complete nice comfy beds, flat screen TV's, mini bars that are restocked daily, huge walk-in shower (no tub), duel sinks and nice ocean views (if you upgrade). There is nightly turn down service as well.

I didn't use it, but the Spa looked amazing! The gym was not too bad, some free weights, tread mill, bikes, etc. They have a daily spinning class as well at 5pm. There is also a hair and nails salon next to the spa and gym.

The restaurants where all pretty good. The ocean side buffet during the day doubles as an a la carte restaurant some nights with nice ocean side dining. The Spanish restaurant was good as well was the Japanese (surprisingly). The decor of the Japanese restaurant was the nicest of all of them, very modern and open air with a beautiful bar. The Italian restaurant was the most formal of them. If I had to give this hotel one bad knock though, it would be the buffet. I stayed RIU's before and their buffets were better.

The beach and ocean here are fantastic! The water is surprisingly clear for the Pacific coast and there are a ton of fish right off the hotels beach. The snorkeling was great, I even saw a huge sting ray. You can feed the fish right on the beach, tons of them at your feet in just a couple feet of water.
The sand is nice and golden and the waves are calm because of the bay. We took out kayaks and went around the whole bay, some of the house over looking it are pretty amazing. There is also sailing and jet skis.

Dreams Huatulco is great for couples and families. Singles would probably find it too quite as there is not much in terms of nightlife. Definitely a great resort that I would recommend!

We found the resort to be very beautiful, service was good. Resort was very relaxing and had the little extras that we enjoyed. We are beach people and the beach and water was fabulous.
There is a lack of entertainment, which didn't matter to us as we do a fair amount of traveling and you can only see so many shows in the resorts.
All was wonderful, we will defiantly be returning......
Thanks to Victor and Santiago, we will miss your wonderful service at the bar.Until we return...

I loved the resort, absolutely beautiful. Great food, spectacularily clean, great location and friendly helpful service. My one complaint is that the entertainment was lacking. The shows were terrible, with a bit of dancing and boring crowd involved games. I was not impressed that the shows were short and boring, not to mention the other activities lacking such as karaoke that started one hour late and was 90% spanish songs. Beyond the complaints i have i had a great time, enjoying the perfect wheather and awesome resort. I enjoyed drinking a lot of well mixed drinks, that were both high quality and not watered down. I completely endorce this resort, especially for couples looking for a relaxing time, but not for a single person looking for a good time, unless you are prepared to venture into town and risk an unsafe drunken walk back in mexico.

Just got bak on December 26/08 after a week at Dreams Huatulco. We were told that there would be tennis. There were 88 in our group, and neither the tour operator (Signature) or the hotel cared at all about our concerns. Our group stayed there 2 years ago when it was Gala, and the hotel was much better as Gala. Poor choice of resort if you have 15 - 21 year old kids. They have a no wristband policy, but want kids 18 and over who would be checked for I.D. for the bar to have their passport with them. I refused to have my kids carrying around their passports. It is a brand new resort renovation, but Bed Bugs, of all things, were a big problem in many rooms. Staff try very hard but they are horribly understaffed. We waited 90 minutes after ordering our meal in their "fancy" Portofino restaurant to be served. The evening entertainment was a joke. The weather was great, so it wasn't a total wipeout. I would not reccommend the resort for at least another year, but don't go there if you have any intentions of playing tennis. The "gym" is 3 older spinning bikes and 2 tradmills in a hallway, and there are no weights at all. There is a period between 11 and 1 pm, where there is no restaurant open at all, so the only way to get food is through room service. The "24" restaurants all close by 11 pm, at the latest, and the disco is non-existent. We had to fight to get them to open a room with some music for the older kids. Sorry, but I have been to many all-inclusive resorts before, but this one has too many bugs to work out and too much construction going on, along with daily sewage pipe problems on the main floor hallway "4" building to say anything other than, if you can get out of your reservation, do it now, and maybe try it in a year. Huge disappointment, for my hard earned vacation dollars, especially with 5 kids in tow, aged 18 - 22. The worst part of all was the lying by Signature and by the resort itself.

They are in the midst of renovations - and it's not going well. Noise at all hours, half the restaurants are closed, and they are charging quite a bit more than when they were called Gala Huatulco. I do not recommend staying there until 2009/2010 winter season. They certainly have a lot of kinks to work out!

Our agent made an error only booking one room, when we had paid for two. The hotel was not helpful, saying they were full. After sitting in the lobby for 4hrs another room magically appeared for $2100 (7nights). They were not helpful at all, the first night we had a leak in our room, the fire alarm then went off and a maintenance man was in our room working at 2am. We wanted to be compensated somehow for this inconvenice, the hotel was not in agreement. Finally after going to the front desk everyday and requesting a credit for one night it was agreed on the last day that it was possible. The breakfast and lunch is great, dinners are poor-mushy, and not much flavor. The gift shop is a complete rip off for sun tan lotions - make sure you pack enough. A bottle I can buy in Canada for $6 is $21!! The entertainment is good, beach is beautiful and bar service on the beach is great. There is a period of two hours (between 11am and 1pm) where food is not available. We had teenagers that would wake up at 11am and couldn't get food until 1pm.

A la carte restaurants were not all available every day, which you were initially led to believe they would be. Cleanliness and housekeeping was fine. Staff not very fluent in English at all. 75% of most groups were ill at some point in the trip, 5 out of 7 in our party got sick. Great environment for teens/university crowd. Evening bar set up not quite adequate, not enough bar area/options for adults in the evening (the disco is for the university age crowd). Exercise facility could benefit from expansion as if it were bigger I think more people would have utilized.
